Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, popularly known as AP Singh, could not resist when he was invited to shake a leg at a Navratri event in Vadodara, Gujarat. A video widely circulating on social media shows him trying a few Garba steps as people around him were seen grooving to the music.
Dressed in a traditional blue kurta with a dupatta, Singh attended the third night of the United Way of Baroda Navratri Garba Mahotsav 2026. He joined the festivities and danced to Garba beats.
The video, which is now circulating online, shows Singh enjoying the Navratri festivities at the annual event. He was accompanied by a member of the organising committee and a security guard.
Hands down .. Air Chief Marshal AP Singh has got to be the coolest and the most
goated Air Chief that we’ve had so far.
What a legend. 😎 https://t.co/xRHXMMSFMw

Singh Flies His Last Fighter Jet Sortie
AP Singh flew his last fighter jet sortie aboard the indigenous Tejas fighter aircraft ahead of his retirement at the end of this month. In a post on X on Monday, the Indian Air Force (IAF) said Singh flew the sortie during Exercise Tarang Shakti at Jodhpur Air Force Station.
He is scheduled to retire on October 31.
Writing on X, the IAF said: “A FINAL FIGHTER SORTIE. A LIFETIME OF PASSION. At the controls of the indigenous Tejas, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, takes to the skies for his last fighter sortie — a defining moment in a distinguished career shaped by an abiding passion for flying and an unwavering commitment to serving the Nation”.
A FINAL FIGHTER SORTIE. A LIFETIME OF PASSION.
At the controls of the indigenous Tejas, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, takes to the skies for his last fighter sortie — a defining moment in a distinguished career shaped by an abiding passion for flying and an unwavering commitment to serving the Nation.
Flying alongside Friendly Foreign Country aircraft and the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team during Exercise #TarangShakti26, the sortie reflects the spirit of a fighter pilot who has always believed in leading from the front.
As one chapter draws to a close, the passion remains undiminished. The skies may mark the end of a flying chapter, but the mission of service to the Nation continues.
Once a fighter pilot. Always a fighter pilot.
