Rajkot, May 2 (PTI) Three members of a family drowned in Aji Dam in Rajkot district of Gujarat on Saturday afternoon while another person was missing, police said.
The incident occurred at around 4 pm when the family was visiting a temple near the dam.
Rohit Jadav (26) entered the water but began to drown, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Hetal Patel.
His sibling Dhaval Jadav (18) and cousin Dhruv Makwana (15) tried to help him but began to struggle themselves. Bharat Jadav (42), Dhaval’s father, jumped in to help them, but he too drowned.
Local police and fire brigade personnel quickly reached the scene after being alerted by other family members.
While Rohit was still missing, the bodies of the other three were recovered. Search operations are
