Kim Kardashian has ignited a huge storm on social media after claiming that the famous 1969 Apollo moon landing did not take place. During the latest episode of The Kardashians, the SKIMS owner was seen promoting a conspiracy theory, insisting that Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong never set foot on the moon.
The 45-year-old entrepreneur further encouraged fans to go to TikTok and watch the “proof” themselves.
How Did Kim Kardashian Come Up With The Moon Landing Theory?
During the episode, Kim Kardashian was seen on the sets of her upcoming legal drama All’s Fair with co-star Sarah Paulson debating whether the moon landing actually took place. Kim also read a quote allegedly from Buzz Aldrin where he once admitted the mission “didn’t happen.” She
argued that 95-year-old Aldrin sometimes “slips up” in interviews because of his age and accidentally reveals the truth. “So, I think it didn’t happen,” Kim said confidently.
She further shared that she often sends Paulson numerous articles about moon landing-related conspiracies, including the ones suggesting that it was all staged by NASA on a film set. “I don’t think we did. I think it was fake,” Kim added.
When Kim was asked how she would respond to being called “crazy” for believing in conspiracies, she shrugged it off, saying, “They’re gonna say I’m crazy no matter what. But like, go to TikTok, see for yourself.”
Kim Kardashian’s Comments Prompt Response From Acting NASA Head
NASA’s acting administrator Sean Duffy slammed Kim Kardashian on X for promoting conspiracy theories. Tagging the entrepreneur, Duffy wrote, “Yes, @KimKardashian, we’ve been to the Moon before… 6 times! And even better: @NASAArtemis is going back under the leadership of @POTUS. We won the last space race, and we will win this one too.” Duffy’s comment further led to a conversation between him and Kim, where she asked Duffy about the interstellar comet that sparked huge curiosity in recent times.
Yes, @KimKardashian, we’ve been to the Moon before… 6 times!
And even better: @NASAArtemis is going back under the leadership of @POTUS.
We won the last space race and we will win this one too
How Did The Internet React?
Clips of Kim’s exchange with Sarah Paulson quickly went viral, sparking criticism, trolling and massive disbelief. One user wrote, “I’m mad at myself for giving this any space in my brain. It baffles me why this person’s opinion even matters.” Another commented, “She is showing her ignorance!!” Someone else questioned, “How did this woman pass the bar?” referring to Kim’s law degree. Another comment read, “Why trust rocks when you have reels?” while others flooded the “irresponsible”, “bizarre” and “peak influencer logic” type of comments.
