India’s skyline is starting to look very different from what it did even a decade ago. Cranes are back, towers are rising faster, and the idea of “tall” is being redefined across cities. What was once limited to a few buildings in Mumbai is now spreading to places like Hyderabad, Noida and Gurugram.
Mumbai still leads the race, largely because of its land constraints, but it’s no longer the only city building upwards. In India today, the developers have bigger ideas for construction projects because the areas of residential and commercial construction are increasingly getting smaller while demand keeps rising.
Industry reports and real estate consultancy firms like Knight Frank and JLL have repeatedly pointed to this shift. As land becomes scarce
and urban demand grows, vertical development is becoming the obvious direction. Many of the projects currently under construction are expected to cross the 300-metre mark by the end of the decade, signalling a new phase in India’s skyline story.
These are some of the towers that are expected to stand out over the next few years:
1. Ocean Tower 1 and 2 in Mumbai will stand as tall as approximately 331 meters, making them one of the highest buildings under construction in India, with a target date of completion of around 2030.
2. Sugee Empire Tower, located in Mumbai, will stand at around 311 meters and have more than 60 floors. It is estimated to be completed by 2028.
3. Aaradhya Avaan Tower 1, Mumbai, will stand at approximately 307 meters, featuring 80 floors.
4. Prestige Liberty North Tower, Mumbai will stand at an approximate height of 300 metres and incorporate residential, retail, and office areas by 2030.
5. Aaradhya Avaan Tower 2, Mumbai, will be built at 295 metres and will add more worth to Tower 1 in the context of a luxurious twin tower project.
6. Indiabulls Sky Suites, Mumbai, will be built up to approximate height of 290 metres and provide luxurious residential apartments within a skyscraper building.
7. Piramal Mahalaxmi North Tower, Mumbai, is one of the largest residential complexes with a future height that surpasses 275 metres after completion.
8. Cyberthum Towers, Noida, are some of the tallest upcoming commercial buildings in North India with heights exceeding 210 metres and projected completion dates between 2026 and 2028.
9. My Home 99, Hyderabad, is set to rise above 213 metres in height, reflecting the fast-paced growth of high-rise buildings in the area.
10. Brigade Gateway Towers, Hyderabad, are expected to surpass 200 metres in height and will be completed before the decade comes to an end.
From these examples, one can clearly see how India’s skyline is evolving from its previous mid-rise buildings into massive skyscrapers on a world scale. Just for Mumbai, a lot of high rise buildings will be seen in the coming years, with many currently being under construction.
Several towers are predicted to become the new landmark structures in these cities by the year 2030. Even if Indian skyscrapers may not yet have reached the level of those towering around the world, developments in the future will definitely show how much progress the country has made.
