Winters have arrived, and with them comes the much-loved comfort food—sarson ka saag and makki ki roti. This iconic Punjabi dish, made from mustard greens simmered with spices, is not only delicious but
also packed with essential nutrients. But anyone who has cooked sarson ka saag knows that the grinding process can be time-consuming and backbreaking.
However, we have just come across a never-seen-before method to speed up the process. A viral video now doing the rounds on social media shows a man taking an unconventional shortcut to mix the mustard greens. Instead of using a traditional hand whisk or spoon, he uses a drilling machine to grind the mustard greens directly inside a pressure cooker.
What’s In The Video?
In the video, the man is seen fixing the handle of a hand whisk to a drill machine after his mother asks him to grind the saag properly. His mother, visibly shocked, questions his method. He casually responds that he is only following instructions—grinding the mustard greens.
When she clarifies that she meant using a whisk or spoon and not a drill, he confidently switches on the machine and explains that what usually takes hours can now be done in minutes.

Social Media Reacts
The video has struck a chord with social media users, who have labelled it as classic Indian jugaad. The idea of using a drill machine to grind mustard greens drew reactions ranging from laughs to sarcasm.
While many users flooded the comment section with laughing emojis, others praised the creativity with comments like, “Ye innovation aap hi kar sakte ho, kamal karditta,” and “Nyccccc.”
Another Jugaad Video
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time such a hack has gone viral. In 2024, another video surfaced showing a man using a drilling machine to crush boiled mustard greens. In that clip, a woman is seen adding corn flour into a pressure cooker while the man uses the drill like a blender, efficiently grinding the saag.
