Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khanum has launched an uncompromising broadside against Pakistan’s judicial process and state machinery, accusing Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar of intentionally prolonging the incarceration of the former Prime Minister and his wife, Bushra Bibi. Questioning the legitimacy of the judicial appointment, she alleged that individuals who lacked foundational merit were elevated to high court benches specifically to facilitate state handlers and deny relief to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership.

Expressing complete disillusionment with the legal system, Aleema Khanum issued a direct call to action, insisting that citizens must take to the streets when constitutional courts repeatedly

fail to deliver justice. She stressed that public mobilisation remains the only viable recourse left for the electorate when formal institutional channels operate under external pressure to keep political figures imprisoned.

Condemnation of High-Handedness Against KP Chief Minister

Turning her attention to domestic political tensions, Aleema Khanum strongly condemned what she described as high-handed tactics and “thuggery” deployed by Punjab authorities against the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). She characterised the hostility faced by the KP leadership during visits to Punjab as an established, aggressive pattern of political intimidation practised by the ruling establishment in Lahore.

Contrasting the hospitality extended by the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to visiting leaders with the mistreatment of KP’s elected chief executive, she called on the public of KP to hold political rivals accountable. Specifically addressing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif, she urged the citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to block his movement when he ventures into public thoroughfares, arguing that state-sponsored insult towards their elected representatives should not go unanswered.
