Gurugram, Sep 8 (PTI) A 35-year-old paying guest operator was shot dead by his acquaintance at his fourth-floor house in Ganga Vihar in the city’s Sector 14 late Tuesday, police said.
The bullet, fired from point-blank range, struck the head of the PG operator and left him critically injured.
The shooter and his accomplice are on the run, the police said.
The police suspect a financial dispute behind the attack.
One of the suspects has been identified as Fauji, a resident of Bhiwani, while another is a resident of Gurgaon village, an officer said.
The injured was identified as Hemant Kaushik, a resident of Ganga Vihar, Acharyapuri-II.
Kaushik lives with his wife, two daughters, and a son.
According to the police, around 7.30 pm, Kaushik was paid a visit
by the two accused at his home.
They discussed some issues in a room on the fourth floor, where an argument led to one of them shooting at Kaushik a point-black range.
“The reasons behind the incident are not yet clear. Statements are being recorded. The accused has been identified and will be arrested soon. The injured person is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital,” a police spokesperson said. PTI COR VN VN
