Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is officially on her way to the 2026 Cannes Film Festival, and unsurprisingly, she made even her airport appearance look like a red carpet moment in the making. The actor was spotted at the airport ahead of her departure, effortlessly serving elegance in a sophisticated all-black ensemble. She wore a blazer and matching trousers from Dhruv Kapoor’s Fall/Winter 2026-27 collection, paired with Gucci’s iconic Diana bag and Signoria boots. The actor also carried a black coat from Lovebirds Studio, adding another layer of understated glamour to the ensemble. Her look was styled by celebrity stylist Mohit Rai.
Accompanying her was daughter Aaradhya Bachchan, who twinned with her mother in a coordinated black outfit. The mother-daughter
duo instantly grabbed attention as they made their way through the airport. Before heading inside, Aishwarya took a moment to acknowledge the paparazzi, smiling warmly, posing for photographs, and waving at the cameras, much to the delight of fans gathered there.
For more than two decades now, Aishwarya has remained one of the most awaited celebrities on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet. Her association with the prestigious event has become a tradition that fans across the globe eagerly look forward to every year. As a global ambassador for L’Oréal Paris since 2003, Aishwarya has consistently represented the beauty brand at Cannes, delivering some of the festival’s most unforgettable fashion moments over the years.
Her Cannes journey began back in 2002, when she attended the premiere of Devdas alongside Shah Rukh Khan and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. For her debut appearance at the festival, Aishwarya wore a stunning yellow saree designed by Neeta Lulla, a look that went on to become one of the most iconic fashion moments in Cannes history. Since then, she has experimented with a wide range of styles, from elegant traditional Indian drapes to dramatic couture gowns, ensuring that every appearance becomes a talking point.
Interestingly, Aishwarya’s iconic Devdas premiere look is also one of Alia Bhatt’s favourite Cannes fashion moments. During a conversation with Vogue, Alia was asked about a Cannes look that has stayed with her over the years, and she instantly mentioned Aishwarya’s memorable saree appearance from 2002.
“A Cannes look that actually goes down in my memory as absolutely iconic would have to be Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the Devdas premiere. The beautiful saree that she wore and just her face, it was so iconic,” Alia shared.
What makes the moment even more special for fans is that both Alia Bhatt and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are associated with L’Oréal Paris, making the admiration feel full circle. As Aishwarya gears up for yet another Cannes appearance, excitement among fans is already at an all-time high to see what fashion statement she brings to the red carpet this year.
