Premier League side Arsenal romped their way to a 2-0 win at Port Val in the third round encounter of the EFL Cup on Thursday as Eberechi Eze and Leandro Trossard found the back of the net for the Gunners.
Eze netted his first goal since his move to Mikel Arteta’s side to open the scoring in the 8th minute of the game before Trossard added the insurance goal four minutes from time.
Eze, who was released by Arsenal as a teenager said, “I’ve been waiting to score for this club for a long time and the first is very special.”
Eze has made an impressive start since his move from Crystal Palace last month, a transfer that could be worth up to £68 million.
The England international capitalised on Myles Lewis-Skelly’s flick to give Arsenal the perfect start after just eight minutes.
Despite dominating the game, the visitors were unable to build on their advantage.
