Clearing immigration, I wasn’t ushered toward a waiting car. Our overwater villa was, quite literally, at the absolute farthest edge of the lagoon, a location that felt like the end of the world in the most exquisite way. Suspended between sea and sky, it offered uninterrupted, cinematic views in every direction. Each morning, we watched the sun rise gently over endless shades of blue; each evening, the sky ignited into deep amber and coral as the sun dipped into the horizon. Experiencing both sunrise and sunset from the same villa felt surreal, almost unreal.
Inside, the villa was expansive and light-filled, with Maldivian-inspired décor that felt elegant rather than thematic. Every detail from premium in-room amenities to the indulgent bathroom spoke of understated opulence. The private infinity pool quickly became our sanctuary, a front-row seat to the ever-changing theatre of the sea.
A particularly thoughtful touch was the pair of personal bicycles customised with our names, turning island exploration into something charmingly personal. With Salman orchestrating every detail seamlessly, the villa felt less like accommodation and more like a private residence afloat on water.
While the resort largely caters to couples and honeymooners, families are not overlooked. Specially designed villas with slides plunging into the lagoon ensure younger guests are equally enchanted, without disrupting the island’s tranquil rhythm.

Dining at OZEN Reserve Bolifushi is a journey across continents. The resort’s three fine-dining restaurants each possess a distinct personality. Saffron elevates Indian cuisine with refined depth, Soyi explores layered Asian flavours, and ORIGINE delivers European and French classics with finesse.
Two all-day dining venues, a sophisticated bar, and a café open round the clock ensure there is never a dull culinary moment. What truly stood out was the consistency—exceptional food paired with genuinely warm, knowledgeable service. Every meal felt thoughtfully curated, never rushed.

Wellness That Whispers
Tucked away in ocean-facing and garden spa villas, the ELENA Spa is a sanctuary within a sanctuary. From the moment you step in, the outside world dissolves. My chosen therapy blended aromatherapy with traditional Ayurvedic techniques, delivered with remarkable precision and care.
ELENA’s philosophy is holistic without being overwhelming incorporating yoga, mindfulness, and ancient healing traditions in a way that feels organic rather than prescriptive. It is restoration at its most refined.
Curated Moments, Lasting Memories
Beyond relaxation, OZEN Reserve Bolifushi excels at curated experiences. A wine-tasting session at Cuvee, led by connoisseur Rohit, was particularly memorable. The cellar houses an impressive collection of some of the world’s most premium wines. Sampling an exquisite range of Pinot Noirs, some truly exceptional was both indulgent and enlightening.
Adventure followed in the form of snorkelling with nurse sharks by DHONI. Entering deep waters surrounded by these graceful creatures was nothing short of surreal. The highly trained team and vigilant lifeguards ensured complete safety, allowing the experience to feel both thrilling and serene.
Yet nothing rivalled the magic of the floating breakfast. Served at sunrise in the privacy of our pool, the spread was lavish, sushi, sashimi, fruit platters, fresh breads, juices, tea, coffee, and more. Floating there, watching the lagoon change colour as the day awakened, felt like time itself had paused.
Luxury with Purpose
Sustainability here is not performative. OZEN Reserve Bolifushi actively invests in coral gardening, operates its own glass water bottling plant, and minimises single-use plastics. Knowing that such indulgence is matched by environmental responsibility adds a deeper, more meaningful layer to the experience.

What truly elevates the stay is the people. From housekeeping to dining staff, service is intuitive, warm, and deeply personal. Needs are anticipated, surprises thoughtfully arranged, and interactions feel sincere rather than scripted. It’s rare to feel so genuinely cared for and rarer still for that care to feel effortless.
