Shafali Varma proved to be as sensational with the ball in hand as she is with the willow with her crucial spell against South Africa in the final of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 final at the DY Patil Stadium on Sunday.
Varma, who had topped the scoring charts for India in the innings earlier, came on to provide a crucial spell with the ball as she removed the set Sune Luus and Marizanne Kapp to turn the tide in India’s favour.
A fan shared an image of the legendary Yuvraj Singh, likening Verma’s showing today to the icon’s performances in the 2011 World Cup.
