Kathmandu, May 30 (PTI) India and Nepal jointly laid the foundation stone for a hospital building that will be built with financial aid from New Delhi in a remote municipality in northern Manang district of the Himalayan nation.
Deputy chief of Indian Embassy in Kathmandu Rakesh Pandey and chairman of the Nason Rural Municipality Dhan Bahadur Gurung jointly laid the foundation stone for construction of the hospital building at ward number 5 of the municipality on Thursday.
The hospital is being built with Indian assistance of NRs 56 million under the High Impact Community Development project, a press release by the Indian Embassy said.
Gurung appreciated India for providing development support and expected that the new facility would help provide
better health care services in the area that is almost a day’s drive in high altitude area about 280 kms northwest of Kathmandu.
India continues with aiding construction of colleges, schools, hospitals and community halls as part of the High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDP) across the length and breadth of Nepal. PTI SBP NPK NPK
