Several media reports claim his condition remains extremely critical, with doctors closely monitoring his progress during a crucial phase of treatment.
Meanwhile, members of the Pakistan cricket fraternity have prayed for Zadran’s speedy recovery. Former wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal shared deeply concerning pictures of the former Afghan pacer from the hospital.

Earlier, former captain Shahid Afridi also expressed deep concern, extending his support to the former Afghanistan fast bowler. Afridi shared an emotional message on X, revealing he had spoken to Zadran’s brother.
“Had a heartfelt call with Shapoor Zadran’s brother today. Truly saddened to hear about his condition. You’ve always been a fighter on the field, and I know you’ll fight this, too. Praying for your speedy recovery,” Afridi wrote.
His brother shared the update on social media, underlining the gravity of the situation.
Zadran’s family reportedly revealed that his white blood cell count has dropped to a critical level, leaving his condition extremely serious.
Shapoor Zadran remains one of Afghanistan’s notable cricketers, having represented the national side in 80 international matches. He made his debut against the Netherlands in 2009 and went on to feature in both ODIs and T20Is.
In the 50-over format, Zadran played 44 matches and picked up 44 wickets, with best figures of 4/24. In T20 internationals, he appeared in 36 games, claiming 27 wickets, with his best performance being 3/40.
Known for his left-arm pace and fighting spirit, Zadran played a key role in Afghanistan’s rise on the global stage.
