Malaika Arora has once again highlighted her commitment to fitness, this time through a new yoga collaboration that blends two powerful styles. The actress joined forces with celebrity yoga expert Vanshika
Pandey, who holds a Master’s degree in Yoga Science from Patanjali University and is well-known for training fitness-focused celebrities.
In the Instagram video, the duo moves gracefully through a seamless blend of Vinyasa and Sivananda yoga. Their synchronised transitions and steady breathing form a fluid, meditative sequence, shared with the caption, “Flow with purpose.”
Understanding Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa often referred to as flow yoga is a dynamic practice where movement is closely linked with the rhythm of the breath. Unlike more static styles, Vinyasa creates a smooth, dance-like progression between poses, allowing practitioners to move continuously without following a fixed routine.
Each action is paired with intentional breathing: inhaling when reaching upward, exhaling when folding forward. Classic postures such as plank, chaturanga, upward-facing dog, and downward-facing dog work together to create a fluid, energising flow.

Understanding Sivananda Yoga
Rooted in the teachings of Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh, Sivananda Yoga draws from ancient yogic traditions and incorporates multiple rounds of Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutations). Beyond asanas and pranayama, the practice emphasises a holistic lifestyle built on five key principles: proper exercise, proper breathing, proper relaxation, a vegetarian diet, and positive thinking with meditation.
Sivananda Yoga integrates frequent pauses for relaxation and deep breathing, helping tone major muscle groups while supporting physical and mental balance.

The text overlay in Malaika’s video sums up the routine perfectly, “A fusion of movement, breath, and mind. Vinyasa builds, Sivananda restores.”
