New Delhi, May 4 (PTI) The Mayor’s Office of the MCD received a bomb threat on Monday morning, prompting a swift response from the Delhi police, officials said.
An email from an unknown sender, carrying a warning of a bomb explosion at 3:11 pm, was received at around 9.20 am. The matter was immediately reported to the police, who carried out a thorough inspection of the premises, an official statement said.
“No untoward incident was reported,” the statement read.
Security personnel checked all sensitive areas of the office during the search operation, officials said, adding that this is not the first such incident, as the office had received a similar threat on April 1.
“In view of the repeated threats, the Mayor’s Office has written to the Delhi
Police Commissioner, seeking a detailed probe and strict action to address the situation,” they added.
Authorities also noted that the Delhi Legislative Assembly has faced multiple threats in the past. In a recent incident, a suspicious person attempted to breach the Assembly gate, raising concerns over security arrangements. PTI VBH VBH SHS SHS
