Arsenal will end the year 2025 at the top of the table following their emphatic 4-1 win over Aston Villa at the Emirates on Wednesday, as Mikel Arteta and Co. put an end to Unai Emery’s incredible run
with the Villans.
Goals from Gabriel, Martin Zubimendi, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus gave the Gunners a resounding win to close out the calendar year as they go in search of an elusive PL title.
Jesus got on the end of a Trossard pass in the 78th minute of the game as he took a composed touch before dispatching the ball expertly into the back of the net to secure the result.

After a scoreless first half, Gabriel rose highest to head the ball into the et in the 48th minute of the game to give Arteta and Co. the lead, before Zubimendi put the hosts two-up just four minutes later as he netted off a Martin Odegaard assist.
Trossard converted a Jurien Timber pass to get his side’s third goal in the 69th minute before Jesus ended the game as a contest with his exquisite strike to help the Gunners pull clear at the top.
Arsenal’s win helped them take their season’s tally to 45 points from 19 outings, five points ahead of second-placed Manchester City, who have a game in hand however against Sunderland on Friday.
Aston Villa, who climbed to third on the back of their impressive run leading up to the game in Emirates remain third with 39 points despite their defeat to Arteta’ men.
Fourth-placed Liverpool, with 32 points from 18 outings, take on Leeds on Thursday, while United stand sixth in the table with 30 points from 19 matches, level on points with fifth-placed Chelsea and split only on goal difference.
