Mumbai Indians ended their losing streak of four matches on Monday, April 20, and secured an impressive win over Gujarat Titans. In the IPL 2026 match played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, MI rode on Tilak Varma’s maiden IPL century (101 from 45 balls) to post a total of 199 for 5 and then successfully defended it by bowling GT out for 110 in 15.5 overs. The hosts kept losing wickets at regular intervals after Jasprit Bumrah opened the proceedings by taking Sai Sudharsan’s wicket on the first ball of GT’s innings.
The win over GT in Ahmedabad has now helped MI jump three places and take 7th position in the IPL 2026 points table. They have 4 points from six matches. Following them are Chennai Super Kings, Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata
Knight Riders. While KKR have 3 points from 7 matches played so far, CSK and LSG have amassed a total of 4 points, but due to better net run rate (NRR), MI are ahead of them in the points table.
Meanwhile GT remain 6th in the points table. The Ahmedabad-based franchise have secured 6 points in six matches.
