A building collapsed in Delhi’s Alipur area on Sunday at around 11:03 AM, prompting police, fire services and disaster management teams to rush to the site.
Initial information suggested that five to six people may have been trapped under the debris. However, officials later confirmed that no one was dead or trapped and all workers were safe and accounted for.
Visuals from the spot show the collapsed structure, exposed reinforcement rods, concrete slabs and construction material scattered across the site.
Preliminary findings indicated that supporting shuttering gave way while lintel work was underway, causing the under-construction structure to collapse. Four ambulances, a fire tender and a Disaster Management vehicle were deployed at the site.
