Diwali season may be packed with celebrity sightings, but Huma Qureshi’s latest public appearance has the internet talking for all the right reasons. The actress arrived at the Thamma screening in Mumbai on Saturday evening, looking radiant — and she wasn’t alone. Walking beside her was her rumoured fiancé, actor and acting coach Rachit Singh, marking their first public appearance together since engagement rumours started swirling last month.
The couple, dressed in complementing outfits, walked the red carpet hand-in-hand, smiling for the paparazzi as they posed together. Videos from the event have gone viral, with fans gushing over their chemistry and how comfortable they looked in each other’s company.
According to earlier reports, Huma and Rachit reportedly got engaged in September after dating for over a year. The news gained traction when singer Akasa Singh shared a photo with the couple, captioned, “Congratulations on your little piece of heaven with the best name, Huma. Had the best night.”
However, Huma never confirmed the speculation. Shortly after the buzz began, she posted a cryptic Instagram story from South Korea, writing, “Everyone needs to calm down… and do calm se kaam.”
Their appearance at the Thamma premiere, though, has sparked the conversation — with fans wondering if they are really engaged and if marriage is on the cards soon.
Rachit, who has worked as an acting coach for several stars, has often been by Huma’s side at key moments. He accompanied her to the Bayaan premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year and was also seen with her at Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal’s wedding in June 2024.
Before this, Huma was in a long-term relationship with filmmaker Mudassar Aziz, who directed her in Double XL. The two parted ways amicably in 2022.
Huma Qureshi has joined Delhi Crime Season 3 as Meena — also known as Badi Didi — a role she has admitted was as challenging as it was transformative. “Playing a negative role like Meena was powerful yet unsettling. She’s shaped by trauma yet wields immense control — both victim and perpetrator. That’s what drew me to Delhi Crime: its honesty. It never glorifies or sensationalises; it makes us confront uncomfortable truths,” she recently said. The International Emmy Award-winning series will premiere on November 13, 2025.
