Bollywood actor Siddhant Chaturvedi is set to step into the shoes of iconic filmmaker V. Shantaram in a highly anticipated biopic produced by Kiran Shantaram. The film, which aims to chronicle the life and legacy of the legendary director, will also feature Fardeen Khan in a key role. Production is expected to begin soon, with the film including portrayals of Shantaram’s three wives by prominent actresses.
According to reports, the filmmakers are leaving no detail untouched to authentically capture Shantaram’s life. Siddhant has already completed a look test photoshoot, and sources describe his resemblance to the filmmaker as striking. The biopic will aim to showcase Shantaram’s profound contribution to Indian cinema, highlighting both his professional
achievements and personal journey.
Shantaram, widely remembered as Annasaheb, was married three times—to Vimla, actress Jayashree, with whom he had two children, and later to Sandhya—and had seven children in total. He passed away in Mumbai on October 30, 1990.
V. Shantaram is remembered for directing some of India’s most celebrated films, including Do Aankhen Barah Haath, Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje, and Navrang. Siddhant’s portrayal of the legendary filmmaker is expected to be among his most challenging roles to date, with Fardeen Khan’s role in the film yet to be revealed.
Meanwhile, Siddhant Chaturvedi began his career in the Indian entertainment industry through web and digital platforms, appearing in sitcoms like Life Sahi Hai and the Amazon series Inside Edge (2017–19).
