Fans of the IPL remember Salman Khan’s famous Twitter (now X) post for the Punjab Kings (then called Kings XI Punjab) from 2014: ‘Zinta’s team won kya?’ The Bollywood superstar broke the internet by simply asking if the IPL side, co-owned by his friend and fellow actor Priety Zinta, won a match.
PBKS did not win that day. They lost to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the first Qualifier and eventually went on to lose the season final to the same team. However, since then, the post is regularly reposted by cricket fans whenever PBKS get a positive result.
This year, Salman picked the perfect time to show his support.
“Well done Zinta, Congratulations Zinta, Team is playing well …. @realpreityzinta” he wrote on X.
And fans just can’t keep calm about
it. Check their reactions:

Punjab Kings’ season so far
PBKS hold the second position in the IPL points table. The franchise remains undefeated after completing four fixtures, having secured three victories alongside one match that concluded with no result due to inclement weather — against that old foe KKR at the Eden Gardens.
With a total of seven points and a positive net run rate of +0.720, the team has established a strong foundation early in the tournament.
Their campaign began with a three-wicket win against the Gujarat Titans, followed by a successful pursuit of a 210-run target to defeat the Chennai Super Kings by five wickets. The team’s most recent completed fixture on April 11 resulted in a six-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad, where they successfully chased a target of 220 runs with seven balls remaining.
This turnaround began last year. PBKS reached only their second final since 2014 but lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Under Shreyas Iyer’s leadership and Ricky Ponting’s coaching, they have shown positive signs of going a long way this year, too. Meanwhile, KKR, three-time champions, are placed at the bottom of the pile and need a miraculous turnaround to qualify.
