The separation of actor Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan was one of the most talked-about celebrity breakups in the country. After spending more than 15 years together and raising two sons, the couple decided to part ways. During the divorce proceedings, speculation surfaced claiming that Sussanne had sought ₹400 crore as alimony from Hrithik. However, her sister, jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali, has now dismissed those reports, stating that Sussanne didn’t take any money from him, and called the speculation a “lie.”
While speaking to Vickey Lalwani, Farah Khan Ali dismissed the claims as baseless, emphasizing that Hrithik and Sussanne’s divorce was amicable. She added that despite the immense public scrutiny surrounding their personal lives,
both of them navigated the challenging phase with grace and mutual respect. She said, “Everyone was in shock. There was a lot of hue and cry. There were a lot of opinions which people had about their personal life, but I think they both handled it all beautifully. It was amicable. One thing I want to say on record is that there was never ₹400 crore alimony, and I feel sick at the bottom of my heart when I see people online saying that ₹400 crore was paid and Sussanne got richer. I mean, that is such a lie.”
She further added, “My dearest sister did not take anything. We come from a family and a mother who taught us that materialistic things are not important; relationships are more important. So, my sister did not take anything. That’s why today, the relationship she has with her ex-husband Hrithik and her ex-in-laws, Pinkie and Rakesh Roshan, is amazing. They love her. I think she conducted herself in a very sophisticated manner. She is not a gold-digger. She is very elegant. She comes from a khandani (reputed) family. She is elegant, and Hrithik is also a wonderful man. It didn’t work out for them, but you don’t need to blow up your marriage for the sake of the press. There was no alimony in this. It’s incorrect and completely bad.”
Farah further shared that following the finalisation of the divorce in 2014, she had often encouraged Sussanne to address and dismiss the rumours about the alleged alimony. Despite her repeated suggestions, Sussanne decided not to respond publicly and maintained her silence. Recalling their conversation, she said, “I told her, ‘Why don’t you deny all this?’ She said, ‘I don’t care what people think of me, Farah’. I think we are all like that. I do whatever I want. Unless you bring some value into my life, what I do shouldn’t matter to you, and what you think of me shouldn’t matter to me.”
Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Khan shared a long history, having known each other since childhood before tying the knot in December 2000, shortly after the blockbuster success of Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. They welcomed two sons, Hrehaan in 2006 and Hridhaan in 2008. Although the couple announced their separation in 2013 and officially ended their marriage a year later, they have continued to maintain a warm friendship. The former couple is often seen spending time together, especially while co-parenting and celebrating occasions with their sons.
