Mumbai, Sep 4 (PTI) A 19-year-old daily-wage labourer allegedly murdered his teenage wife before dying by suicide following a domestic dispute in central Mumbai’s Agripada in the early hours of Friday, police said.
The incident occurred around 5 am near Kalapani Chowki, in the jurisdiction of the Agripada police station, an official said.
Mohammad Ehsan Sheikh got into an argument with his wife Jannat and allegedly slit her throat before turning the weapon on himself, he said.
The official said that the police were alerted and a team rushed Sheikh to the nearby civic-run Nair Hospital, where he died during treatment, the official said.
“The deceased couple were daily-wage labourers. A preliminary investigation has found that a domestic dispute led
to the incident,” he said.
The police are in the process of registering a case of murder and an accidental death report, the official said. PTI ZA ARU
