New Delhi, Sep 7 (PTI) Karan Rajendra Darda of Lokmat was elected president of the Indian Newspaper Society (INS) for 2026-27 on Monday, the media industry body said.
Darda, the executive director of Lokmat Media Group, succeeds Vivek Gupta of Sanmarg. His election was announced at the 67th annual general meeting of the INS, held via video conference.
Tanmay Maheshwari of Amar Ujala was elected deputy president, Harsha Mathew of Vanitha vice president and Anant Nath of Grihshobhika honorary treasurer for 2026-27. Mary Paul will continue as the secretary general of the society.
The INS executive committee for the year comprises 41 members.

Darda brings a combination of global management perspectives and a deep understanding of India’s regional media landscape.
