A resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras , Anishka Goyal passed CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2026, with an amazing score of 92.6%. Around 90% visually impaired, she has always refused to see herself as different from any other student. From the beginning, she wanted to test her abilities like a “normal” student, to prove to herself that with hard work she could do well. This belief became her strength, giving her confidence even when things turned difficult that led to her to secure such amazing marks in class 10.
For Anishka, studying was never simple. To read, she had to keep her books very close to her eyes and revise the same topics again and again. “I studied by keeping my books very close to my eyes and revising again and again. I used my mobile
phone camera to zoom text, and later I got a magnifying device which helped me a lot,” she told News18.
Her mother was her strongest pillar of support. She wrote Anishka’s school-work for her and patiently explained diagram-based questions that were almost impossible for the 17-year-old to see clearly. Along with this, Anishka relied on PW Power Batch videos.
Subjects filled with diagrams, like Physics and Geometry, were the toughest challenges. She could not rely on her eyes alone, so she depended on constant revision, her mother’s detailed explanations, and the conceptual clarity she gained from online videos. There were days when, even after bringing the notebook very close, she could not see the lines on the page. On such days, she had no choice but to stop and rest her eyes for a few days. Alongside her studies, she was undergoing treatment. Balancing everything along with studies taught her that understanding the subject was more important than mechanically reading it.
One of the most stressful moments in her journey came just a day before an exam. Her magnifying device suddenly stopped working. Panic and fear hit her immediately: without it, how would she manage in the exam hall? But her Mother reacted without delay. She took leave from work, rushed to get the device repaired, and returned with it fixed the very same day. That timely help saved her from what could have been a major setback and reminded her that she was not alone in this struggle.
Fight for Support and Clarity
Her challenges were not limited to academics or eyesight. Her family went through deep emotional pain when they were exiled from their paternal home because of her condition. This rejection was a sudden shock and left a lasting wound. At the same time, she was dealing with health issues like gallbladder stones. The combination of emotional trauma, physical pain, and academic pressure could have broken her spirit. But her parents stayed firm. They supported her in every possible way – physically, emotionally, and mentally. Their strength became the foundation on which she built her determination.
Through everything she has faced, Anishka has developed a strong belief that visually impaired students deserve better awareness, support, and clear guidance. She feels that study material should be easier to access and that schools must provide proper tools and assistance. The existing disability guidelines, according to her, are not clearly written, which creates confusion for students like her and for schools as well. While awareness is slowly improving, she knows that in many parts of India, it is still far from enough.
Anishka Goyal Dreams Of Becoming A Doctor
Despite all the uncertainty surrounding her future, Anishka dreams of becoming a doctor. “I want to become a doctor, but because of my condition, I am not sure if I am eligible or not. Still, whatever I do, I will always try my best and work hard to achieve my goals. I remember a line I heard in an interview of Sachin Tendulkar: “Chase your dreams, they will definitely come true.” This line inspires me to keep moving forward and never give up,” she said.
