A viral video from Delhi’s Dwarka Expressway has sparked police action after a reckless driving incident escalated into a confrontation on the road, drawing attention to safety concerns on busy urban highways.
Acting on a video circulating widely online, Delhi Police traced a man accused of driving on the wrong side of the Dwarka Expressway. An official confirmed on Wednesday that the vehicle and its driver had been identified and legal proceedings initiated.
Police said a case has been registered under Section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which pertains to rash and negligent driving. A senior officer stated that the vehicle was tracked and the driver was booked under the relevant legal provisions.
Dash-Cam Footage Reveals Close Call
The incident came to light after a dash-cam
clip surfaced on social media. The footage shows a vehicle, believed to be operating as a taxi, suddenly appearing in the opposite lane on the Dwarka Expressway.
The vehicle moves directly towards an oncoming car, travelling correctly, forcing the driver to brake abruptly to avoid a collision. The near miss highlights the risks posed by wrong-side driving on high-speed corridors.
Argument Breaks Out On The Road
According to police, the situation escalated further when the driver of the wrong-side vehicle stepped out and allegedly got into a verbal altercation with the other motorist. The confrontation added a road rage dimension to what began as a traffic violation.
The incident occurred near the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, close to the Yashobhoomi Roundabout in Dwarka.
Police Confirm Action On Social Media
Delhi Police later shared details of the case on its official X handle, along with the viral video. The force stated that it had identified those involved and that “…legal action has been initiated” under the relevant section of the law dealing with negligent driving.
Taking cognizance of the viral road rage incident near Yashobhoomi Roundabout, Dwarka Expressway, the vehicle and driver have been identified.

No Injuries, Probe Continues
Officials confirmed that no injuries were reported in the incident. However, the case remains under investigation as authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
As per a report by Times Of India, no arrests had been made at the time of writing.
