Lucknow, Sep 5 (PTI) Rain and thundershowers are likely in many places across Uttar Pradesh over the next 24 hours, with heavy rain forecast at isolated locations, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
In Lucknow, the sky is expected to remain partly cloudy initially before becoming generally cloudy, with a few spells of rain or thundershowers, it said.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 32 and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The IMD said the weather conditions are expected to bring some relief from the prevailing humidity, though temperatures may remain uncomfortable during periods without rain.
The state witnessed rainfall at several places during the past 24 hours, with Varanasi recording 34 mm, Moradabad
65.2 mm, Najibabad 31.4 mm, Meerut 49.1 mm, Aligarh 8.2 mm and Muzaffarnagar 7 mm.
The showers were reported across different parts of the state, with some locations receiving moderate to heavy rainfall.
Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 33.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 25.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday, both slightly above normal. The IMD said similar weather conditions may continue in parts of Uttar Pradesh during the coming days, with intermittent rain and thundershowers likely in several districts.
