Kamal Haasan Meets M.K. Stalin, Says Friendship With TN CM's Family Spans 3 Generations

Veteran actor and politician Kamal Haasan marked his 71st birthday on November 7 with warm wishes and a special visit from Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and his son, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi

Stalin. The father-son duo personally met Haasan at his residence, where they were also introduced to his elder brother, Charuhasan.

Kamal Haasan shared photos and videos of the meeting on social media, capturing moments of camaraderie and warmth. Alongside the visuals, he reflected on his long-standing bond with the Stalin family, which he said goes back decades. “Kids usually don’t show closeness to their dad’s friends. Respectful little distance will be there. However, my relationship with Muthamizharignar (M. Karunanidhi, former CM and MK Stalin’s father) spans nearly three generations. Our relationship is bound by unconditional pure grandeur, respect beyond limits,” he wrote.

Both Stalin and Udhayanidhi extended their birthday wishes to Haasan on social media as well. The images from their visit showed the leaders sharing light moments with the actor and presenting him with a painting as a token of their affection.

Haasan, who continues to balance his political commitments with his film career, was last seen in Mani Ratnam’s gangster drama Thug Life, co-starring Silambarasan TR, Trisha Krishnan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Abhirami. Despite the anticipation surrounding it, the film received a modest response from audiences.

The actor is currently busy producing a new film featuring superstar Rajinikanth under his home banner, Raaj Kamal Films International. The project, directed by Sundar C, is expected to begin production soon, though further details are awaited.

Haasan also has Shankar’s Indian 3 in the pipeline, amid ongoing speculation about its future following the underwhelming reception of Indian 2. In addition, the actor has signed another project with the acclaimed action choreographer duo Anbariv, which was officially announced in September.
