Weddings are meant to be joyful occasions, with families planning decorations, outfits and memorable entries for the bride and groom. But sometimes, these plans can take a dangerous turn. A couple recently
experienced a terrifying moment during their Haldi ceremony when their grand entry idea went horribly wrong. They were holding a bunch of hydrogen balloons while colourful guns were being fired around them. Due to the heat, the balloons suddenly caught fire, and within seconds, a massive blast occurred.
According to reports, the bride sustained burns on her face and back, while the groom suffered burns on his fingers and back. His hair was also singed in the flames. The couple later shared a video (now deleted) on Instagram, explaining how what was meant to be a fun trend turned into a painful memory. “We never imagined the most special day of our lives would take such a drastic turn,” the couple wrote.
The Couple Used Conclear To Hide Injuries
They revealed that they had to hide their injuries with makeup and even cut off burnt hair on what was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives.
When the video begins, the couple can be seen walking in while holding hydrogen balloons. During their entry, one of the colour guns used for the celebration gets too close to the balloons and, before anyone can react, it triggers a massive blast that leaves the couple injured and visibly shaken.
Bride & Groom’s Original Plan
They later explained that the original plan was to release the hydrogen balloons first and use the colour guns afterwards. However, in the rush of the moment, someone accidentally pointed a colour gun toward the balloons, causing a dangerous explosion.
For the bride and groom, a day that should have been filled with joy turned unexpectedly painful. Instead of getting ready peacefully, they found themselves covering burn marks with makeup and trimming the portions of hair that had been damaged. They even coloured their hair to hide the burnt patches, while the strong smell of burnt hair lingered for a long time. The couple said that if their family members, who are doctors, and a nearby hospital hadn’t stepped in quickly, the injuries could have been far more severe. Despite the shock and discomfort, they chose to go ahead with the wedding and did their best to enjoy the varmala ceremony.
“We hope our experience becomes a reminder for everyone to exercise caution and prioritise safety over trends – no celebration is worth risking lives.” The couple decided to post the video so others could learn from their mistake. They wanted people to understand that trendy wedding ideas can become dangerous when safety is overlooked. By sharing their experience, they hoped no one else would have to face a similar painful situation. However, the clip was later deleted, though the reason for its removal remains unknown.
