Days after accusing Orry aka Orhan Awatramani of disrespecting Lata Mangeshkar, Rajiv Adatia took to his Instagram handle on Monday to drop an old video with the late legendary singer. The Bigg Boss fame also penned down a long note and explained why it is important for him to defend Lata ji’s legacy. He argued that he could not stay silent when “people” thought it was “funny to mock legends”.
“Dear Lata Didi, recently, I had to defend Your name and Legacy not that it needs defending but needs to be protected from people who think it’s funny to Mock Legends! Your name is a name that represents devotion, discipline, and divinity when it was mocked I couldn’t stay silent. Because when people who mistake popularity for purpose or paid publicity
for talent try to use your name for attention, it’s beyond shameful,” Rajiv wrote.
Rajiv reminded everyone of Lata Mangeshkar’s contribution to the Indian music industry and continued by saying, “You are the heartbeat of this nation, Didi. You sang “Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon” for the soldiers who gave their lives for India. You moved the entire country to tears even the Prime Minister wept listening to you. You didn’t chase the spotlight; the light found you.”
“You are Bharat Ratna, a title earned, never purchased. A name respected, not promoted. Some people may buy headlines, pose endlessly, and call it fame but real greatness is built on work, not on camera flashes. You never needed to stand next to others to shine your light was enough to illuminate generations,” he added.

Rajiv explained why he stood up for Lata and shared, “I stood up for you, Didi not because you need defending, but because I refuse to let the shallow mock the sacred. You are proof that grace speaks louder than gossip, and that humility will always outlast hype. Legends like you don’t fade they become the soul of a nation. And while trends will come and go, your voice will forever remain the sound of truth, purity, and timeless art.”
He also stated that it “hurts” when people believe that “fame can be paid for rather than earned.” “They’ll never understand what it means to dedicate your life to something higher to your craft, to your calling, to your country,” he wrote.
“Miss you more today as it just shows that the soul of Our Industry is being sold. No body wants to stand up and call out people in the name of fear. They fear they might not be invited to Parties! They will be out of a certain groups or clicks! Morals and Integrity sold just to be included not to shine! I just wanna say that your legacy and music lives within the people of the World! I’ve seen that they have stood up for you more than anyone! ❤️ just shows! Jaanta hai toh hum Hai! With love, respect, and adoration,” Rajiv concluded.
How Rajiv Vs Orry Began
Last week, Rajiv Adatia slammed Orry for allegedly mocking legendary singers Lata Mangeshkar and Falguni Pathak in a recent video. The controversy began when Orry, during Falguni Pathak’s concert, referred to her as “Falguni peacock singing on stage” and called Lata Mangeshkar “Lata Mangeshwari,” saying she was the “queen of Garba.”
Rajiv took to social media to express his anger. “This is not funny. It’s disrespectful. Lata ji was like family to me. She treated me like her own son,” he said and then added, “Lata Mangeshkar is a Bharat Ratna awardee, the pride of India. She was the first Indian singer to perform at the Royal Albert Hall in London and inspired countless artists.”
Calling Orry’s comments “offensive and ignorant,” Rajiv urged people to teach the younger generation about the cultural icons of India. “Comedy is fine, but disrespect is not. Know the difference,” he said. Rajiv’s caption also included an apology to Falguni Pathak: “@falgunipathak12, we love you, Ma’am. I apologise for the immaturity of certain individuals.”
Later, Orry also took to the comments section of Rajiv’s post and mocked him. “Why does this man look like he ate 5 Orrys and poured a bottle of cheap foundation and fake tan on his face?” he wrote, taking a direct dig at Rajiv’s appearance.
