A major development has emerged in the Malviya Nagar fire incident case, with absconding accused Jai Mishra surrendering before authorities at Delhi’s Saket Court.
According to investigators, Mishra was allegedly the person in whose name the licences linked to the establishment were obtained. He had been on the run since the case came under investigation following the deadly fire incident.
Previously, the police arrested Lovkesh Bajaj, the owner and Keshav Negi, the cook.
Police officials confirmed that Mishra surrendered before the court on Sunday, after which legal proceedings were initiated.
With Mishra’s surrender, the investigation has entered a crucial phase as authorities seek to establish the chain of responsibility behind the fire and examine
possible violations related to licensing and safety compliance.
Police have already arrested two individuals in connection with the case. Investigators are probing whether the licences were obtained legally and whether mandatory fire safety norms were violated.
The Malviya Nagar fire incident triggered widespread concern over safety standards and regulatory compliance at commercial establishments in the area.
Further questioning of the accused is expected as police continue to investigate the circumstances leading to the fire and identify any additional individuals who may have played a role in the case.
