A Rajasthan man has taken an unusual approach to keeping his car clean. While cars are loved for the freedom and enjoyment they provide, their floors often become magnets for dirt, crumbs and debris. Frustrated
with the constant mess, Sameer Saiyad, from Bikaner, decided to take matters into his own hands. He installed floor tiles inside the vehicle.
In a video shared on Instagram, he said, “The floor mat of my car kept getting damaged and extremely dirty, so I decided to completely fix the issue.”
The clip shows regular house floor tiles affixed with white putty, carefully installed inside his car.

Step-By-Step Process
He explained the process in the caption. The first step involved deciding exactly what type of tiles to use and ensuring they would fit inside the car. Unlike a house floor, a car’s floor has curves, contours and uneven surfaces.
Saiyad then had to locate a mechanic or specialist experienced in car interiors and flooring. The next step was removing the old floor covering, which could have been carpet, mats, or damaged tiles. “This was a bit messy,” he admitted.
Next, the mechanic had to measure and cut the new tiles perfectly to fit the car’s floor, Saiyad said.
“After the new tiles were installed, my car’s interior looked brand new again,” he said. “Finally, I was happy that the floor tiles are fixed, so I can drive around without any worries.”
How Did Social Media React?
The video soon went viral on Instagram.
A user commented, “Ab isme jhadu pocha marna padega roj apko (Now you will have to sweep and mop this.)”
Another wrote, “Cheeni-mitti wali tiles (ceramic tiles.)”
A user asked, “will it be covered by insurance?”
“Make the roof out of concrete. And use bullock cart tyres so you wouldn’t get a puncture,” read a comment.
Someone said, “you could have used good tiles, why did you use bathroom tile.”
“How much has the car’s weight increased?” a comment read.
Is Tiling Your Car Floor Worth It?
Installing floor tiles in a car may seem creative, but it comes with major drawbacks. The added weight can affect fuel efficiency and strain the suspension, while tiles are prone to cracking or loosening due to vibrations and temperature changes. Cleaning is tricky, as dirt settles in grout lines and improperly installed tiles can create safety hazards or damage the interior. Such custom modifications may also reduce resale value. High-quality, custom-fit car mats remain a safer, more practical and easier-to-maintain alternative.
