Mumbai Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light showers for Mumbai for today, October 17. Meanwhile, a yellow alert has been issued for several places across Maharashtra.
Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall, and gusty winds with speeds reaching 30–40 kmph are likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Konkan-Goa and Madhya Maharashtra, as per the predictions by the weather department.

Mumbai Sees Sudden Showers After A Hot Day
Mumbai witnessed a spell of heavy rain on Thursday evening after enduring a hot and humid day. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city’s suburban Santacruz observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 35.9°C, while the coastal Colaba station registered 35.8°C.
Data shared by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) showed that between 6 pm and 7 pm, several parts of the city received short but intense rainfall. Colaba recorded 15 mm of rain during the hour, while areas along LBS Road received around 12 mm. The Bhandup region saw the heaviest downpour, with 16 mm of rainfall.
The brief showers offered some respite from the scorching temperatures, though humidity levels remained high through the evening.
