Kulbhushan Bhardwaj elected Gurugram District Bar Association president

Gurugram, Sep 11 (PTI) Advocate Kulbhushan Bhardwaj was elected president of the Gurugram District Bar Association (DBA) on Friday.

Bhardwaj won by a margin of 244 votes after 12 rounds of counting, the returning officer said.

In the contest for president, Vinod Rao was the first runner-up with 1,590 votes, while the elected president Bhardwaj received 1,834 votes.

A total of 4,963 lawyers cast their votes to elect the DBA’s top office bearers. Sahil Yadav was declared the vice-president, winning by a margin of only 2 votes, while Reenu Maheshwari was elected as additional vice-president. She won by a margin of 920 votes, he added.

According to returning officer Satbir Singh Tanwar, advocate Prashant Thakran was elected secretary by a margin of 98

votes, while Vikram Yadav was elected joint secretary by a margin of 1,312 votes. Akshat Jain was elected treasurer by a margin of 446 votes.

Polling was carried out under electronic surveillance, and CCTV cameras were specially installed in the court complex to ensure fair elections. The election began at 9 am and concluded around 5 pm, followed by rounds of counting, he added. PTI COR APL APL
