German influencer Lizlaz has opened up about how her life changed after India batting star Virat Kohli allegedly liked one of her pictures on social media, a moment that quickly went viral online.

Lizlaz said the sudden attention brought her several opportunities, including brand promotions and reality show offers. However, she also claimed that some people approached her with offers of money to spread negativity about Kohli.
“Some people wanted me to throw shade at him and say things he never did. But why would I do that? He’s my favourite cricketer. Why would I throw shade at him for money?” Lizlaz told Filmymantra.
The influencer admitted she was stunned by the overnight fame.
“I found out
because people started calling me. I didn’t even see it in my notifications. I opened Google and there were pages and pages about me. It felt very unreal,” she said.
Lizlaz also highlighted the contrast in reactions between India and Germany.
“In India people were asking, ‘Who is Lizlaz?’ But in Germany, the headlines were asking, ‘Who is Virat Kohli?’ because cricket is not very popular there,” she quipped.
The buzz around her online popularity also led to a professional opportunity, as she recently landed an anchoring role during a match between Germany and Austria.
“I absolutely loved it. I did the post-match moderation, player interviews and trophy ceremony. Being part of the game felt amazing,” she recalled her experience.
Lizlaz further revealed that she has received multiple collaboration requests and lucrative brand promotion offers, including proposals from online casinos.
“I got offered insane amounts of money, but I don’t want to promote something against my values,” she said.
Meanwhile, Kohli is currently representing Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the 2026 edition of the Indian Premier League. RCB currently sit at the top of the points table with seven wins from 11 matches and are closing in on a playoff berth. They are scheduled to face Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday.
