(UP), Sep 17 (PTI) A 47-year-old man drowned in a canal in Banda district, police said on Thursday. According to his family members, Malkhe alias Malkhan Kori (47) went to neighbouring Chaunsar village on a bicycle on Wednesday evening for work.
Police said when he did not return home at night, his family members started searching for him, police said.
Police said that on Thursday morning a farmer informed them after noticing the body in the canal.
A team then reached the spot, removed the body from the water, and sent it for a post-mortem examination.
The incident took place in Tendura village under the Bisanda police station area on Wednesday evening, they said. Police are probing how the man fell into the canal. PTI COR KIS ASD ASD
