Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt began an important day on a spiritual note by offering prayers at the revered Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu on Friday, January 9. The visit coincided with the theatrical release of his much-awaited film The Raja Saab, drawing large crowds eager to catch a glimpse of the veteran actor.
Several videos circulating on social media captured the buzz around the temple premises, with fans gathering in significant numbers as Sanjay made his way out after the darshan.
Temple Visit Draws Huge Crowd
Visuals from inside the temple complex showed Sanjay Dutt stepping out under tight security, surrounded by enthusiastic admirers. Dressed in a simple white outfit, the 66-year-old actor wore a traditional angvastra and carried prayer
malas as he offered prayers at the Shiva Linga and Bhairava shrines.

Before entering the temple, Sanjay briefly interacted with the media and expressed his fondness for the country, saying, “I love Nepal and the Nepali people.”
Nepal Tourism Board Welcomes The Actor
Sanjay Dutt was welcomed at the temple by Nepal Tourism Board CEO Deepak Raj Joshi, who highlighted the importance of visits by prominent Indian celebrities. Joshi noted that India remains one of Nepal’s key tourism markets and such high-profile visits help further strengthen cultural and tourism ties between the two nations.
Short Nepal Visit Includes Casino Inauguration
The actor arrived in Kathmandu on Thursday evening for a brief visit. Apart from the temple darshan, Sanjay also attended the inauguration of a casino, an event positioned as part of Nepal’s efforts to boost tourism. He departed for Mumbai later the same day after completing his engagements.
Busy Phase For Sanjay Dutt Professionally
The spiritual outing comes amid a successful phase in Sanjay Dutt’s career. He was recently seen in Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, which has emerged as one of the biggest box-office hits in recent times. The film stars Ranveer Singh in the lead, with Sanjay portraying the stern cop SP Chaudhary alongside Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal.
Meanwhile, The Raja Saab, which released on Friday, stars Prabhas in the lead role and is directed by Maruthi. Sanjay plays a menacing and manipulative hypnotist in the fantasy horror comedy, which also features Boman Irani, Zarina Wahab, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar in pivotal roles.
