Haryanvi singer Ankit Balyan was shot dead in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district on August 26, 2026. He was 32 years old. Balyan was attacked outside a gym and now a chilling CCTV footage has captured the moment the suspected attackers closed in on Ankita.
Preliminary reports suggest that around 18 rounds were fired at Baliyan, with five bullets hitting the singer. The Haryana-based Gogi gang has reportedly claimed responsibility for the killing in an Instagram post.
Chilling CCTV footage shows the suspected attackers arriving near the gym on motorcycles and later approaching Baliyan. In another clip, four men can reportedly be seen walking towards the singer, with bags slung over the shoulders of one or two men.
Preliminary information suggests that around 18 rounds were fired at Baliyan as he stepped out of the gym. He was reportedly struck by five bullets, including in the head and abdomen.
Meanwhile, Ankit Balyan’s last Instagram post is gaining a lot of attention. In the video shared, he is seen singing a couple of lines from a Haryanvi song that talks about murder. The final post on his Instagram account was uploaded around one or two hours before he was shot. In the video, the singer is seen sitting in his car, relaxing and singing a Haryanvi song that talks about murder, with the lines, “Murder maar de sadak ke upar”, which translates to “Murder someone right on the road.”
Ankit Balyan was shot dead outside a gym in Shamli on Wednesday, August 26. Reportedly, Balyan was stepping out when the attackers fired 20 shots at him and fled. He was critically injured and was taken to hospital. However, doctors could not save him and declared him dead on arrival.
The Haryana-based Gogi gang has reportedly claimed responsibility for the murder. Bholu Shahpuriya, a Sonipat resident who allegedly has links to the gang, shared an Instagram post claiming that he was responsible for Baliyan’s killing.
