Tamil Nadu Election 2026: Exit polls released on April 29 largely gave the edge to the DMK alliance, while a couple of pollsters backed the AIADMK bloc to form the government. But what almost everyone missed was the scale of Thalapathy Vijay TVK’s surge in the state — barring one.
It was Pradeep Gupta-led Axis My India that stood out, predicting Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) would emerge as the single largest party with 98–120 seats
.At the time, the projection was widely mocked — some laughed it off, others dismissed it outright, while a few cautiously acknowledged a possible “Vijay factor.” But as counting trends now show TVK crossing the 100-seat mark in the 234-member Assembly, Axis My India’s bold call appears to have hit the bullseye,
silencing its critics.
However, not all of Pradeep Gupta’s projections have played out as expected. Axis My India had forecast the DMK-led alliance to finish second with 92–110 seats, while predicting the AIADMK would be reduced to below 35.

In contrast, the actual trends point to a much tighter contest for the runner-up spot. As counting continues, both the INDIA and NDA camps are locked in a close race, each hovering around the 60–65 seat mark.
