SS Rajamouli has extended his support to Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana ahead of its theatrical release on November 5. The RRR and Baahubali filmmaker shared the film’s latest trailer on X on Friday and praised director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra for mounting the epic on a grand scale.
Rajamouli also appreciated the film’s ensemble cast, which is led by Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. His post arrived a day after the makers unveiled a new trailer for Ramayana: Rise of a Legend as the film’s promotional campaign gathers pace ahead of release.
SS Rajamouli Sends Best Wishes To Ramayana Team
Sharing the trailer on X, Rajamouli wrote, “#Ramayana is a story every Indian storyteller grows up aspiring to tell. It’s
a joy to see @niteshtiwari22 and @malhotra_namit bring it to the screen on such a grand scale. Each actor brings these timeless characters to life with depth.”

The filmmaker ended his message by writing, “Looking forward to 5th November. Best wishes to the entire team.”
Rajamouli’s post quickly attracted attention, particularly given his own reputation for mounting Indian stories on a large cinematic canvas through films such as the Baahubali franchise and RRR.
His appreciation comes shortly after the second trailer offered a more extensive look at Nitesh Tiwari’s interpretation of the epic.
New Ramayana Trailer Pits Ranbir Kapoor’s Rama Against Yash’s Ravana
The recently released trailer puts the battle between Rama and Ravana at the centre.
Ranbir is seen as Rama, while Yash’s Ravana is established as the principal threat. Sai Pallavi appears as Sita, with the footage also introducing Kunal Kapoor as Indra.
The English version of the trailer describes Rama as humanity’s hope and refers to him as “not a God, but a man”, while the Hindi version places greater emphasis on his divine identity. The two versions were released as the film expands its campaign for both Indian and international audiences.
The trailer also showcases Ravana challenging Indra, Rama fighting demons and several large-scale action sequences. A separate batch of footage released subsequently featured Yash performing the Shiv Tandav and Indra wielding the Vajra.
Ramayana To Release On November 5
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.
The ensemble also includes Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Arun Govil as Dasharatha, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara and Adinath Kothare as Bharat.
Namit Malhotra and Yash are backing the project, while AR Rahman and Hans Zimmer have come together for its music. DNEG is handling the film’s visual effects.
The project is being mounted in two parts. Yash recently clarified at the Bengaluru trailer launch that the reported Rs 4,000 crore investment covers both instalments rather than the first film alone.
The first part of Ramayana will arrive in theatres internationally on November 5, 2026, with the second instalment planned for Diwali 2027. Rajamouli, meanwhile, has now made it clear that he will be among those watching when Tiwari’s adaptation reaches the big screen.
