Sonam Wangchuk Hunger Strike Live Updates: Activist Sonam Wangchuk was shifted from the Jantar Mantar protest site to Safdarjung Hospital by Delhi Police on Saturday after he completed 20 days of his hunger strike.

Police escorted Wangchuk to the hospital for medical care amid concerns over his health following the prolonged fast.

The action came ahead of a Delhi High Court hearing on Wangchuk’s deteriorating condition. Two days earlier, the court had directed authorities to conduct daily clinical examinations of the climate activist, observing that “the life of any citizen is precious” and ordering regular health monitoring along with necessary medical intervention.

Safdarjung Hospital said that Wangchuk has been admitted for necessary medical

care after his prolonged hunger strike left him weak and dehydrated. The hospital said that while Wangchuk’s condition is currently stable, he requires continuous observation, monitoring and treatment to restore his body parameters.

Wangchuk was on a fast, demanding the resignation of the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over an alleged NEET paper leak.
