Peddi Release Dilemma: SKN Apologizes For ‘Miscommunication’ Over New Date, Sai Rajesh Reacts To ‘Blunder’

A video clip of producer SKN (Sreenivasa Kumar) mentioning a new release date for Ram Charan starrer Peddi during the promotions of Chennai Love Story spread widely on social media. Because the comment came from a well-known producer, it quickly gained attention and left Ram Charan’s fans confused and upset. However, SKN later shared a video to clarify the situation, and explained that there was a miscommunication.

SKN Issues Clarification Over Ram Charan’s Peddi Release Date

In the clarification video, producer SKN explained that people at the event kept asking him when Chennai Love Story would release. At that point, the film’s writer and co-producer Sai Rajesh informed him that he had seen tweets speculating about a possible new release date for Peddi. Sai Rajesh advised him not to reveal the Chennai Love Story date until

the Peddi team made an official announcement. SKN stated that, amid the crowd’s loud cheering, he misunderstood the situation and wrongly assumed that the Peddi makers had already confirmed June 26 as the new date.

“At the event, everyone was asking me about Chennai Love Story’s release date. At that time, the film’s writer and co-producer Sai Razesh told me that he saw tweets about the probable new release date of Peddi. He asked me not to announce our release date until the Peddi team makes an official announcement. However, due to the audience’s loud cheer, the information was lost and I mistook that the Peddi makers had announced the new date as June 26,” he said.

SKN Apologizes For The Confusion

He further clarified that he was genuinely sorry for the confusion caused. He mentioned that any update about the release date of a major film like Peddi should be issued formally by its production house. He also noted that if any postponement were to happen, the Peddi team would announce it themselves.

“I sincerely apologise for the miscommunication. The release date update of a big film like Peddi should come from the production house officially. Hence, I released this video to set the record straight. Don’t take me wrong. I want to release Chennai Love Story when there are no biggies. Also, Peddi will be a blockbuster no matter when it releases. If there is any postponement, the makers themselves will announce it,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sai Rajesh wrote on his Instagram stories that when SKN asked if they could announce June 26 as the release date for Chennai Love Story, he told him not to do so, mentioning that he had just seen a tweet by Devipriya on X suggesting that Peddi might arrive on June 26. He said SKN then mistakenly stated that Peddi was releasing on June 26, and he offered sincere apologies to the Peddi team, admitting that the error originated from their side.

“When he (SKN) said Can we announce #ChennaiLoveStory on June 26th, I said Don’t announce. I just saw devipriya tweet on X app… “Peddi” may come on June 26th… he mistakenly said peddi releasing on June 26th… Sincere apologies to Peddi team. Blunder happened from our side,” wrote Sai Rajesh.

While Ram Charan starrer Peddi is set for release on April 30, several reports suggest that the film may get postponed. However, the producers of the film have made no announcement about the postponement or a new release date so far.
