Astrotalk CEO Puneet Gupta shared a funny yet eye-opening story on Sunday and it is about how quickly people’s behaviour can change once money enters the picture. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the entrepreneur
revealed how his new driver suddenly started treating him differently, all because of one overheard phone call about crores of rupees!
According to the post, Puneet Gupta had hired a driver for the first time. For the first two days, everything was perfectly normal. But on the third day, something strange happened, the driver suddenly rushed to open the car door for him.
Hired a driver for the first time. First 2 days were good.
3rd day he suddenly came to open the door for me.
I was like, “bhai ye kya kar rhe ho?”
“ye main kar lunga, aapne 2 min waste kar diye car start karne mein”he said, “sir ye toh kaam hai humara”

Astrotalk CEO On Driver’s Changed Behaviour
Surprised, Gupta asked, “Bhai ye kya kar rhe ho (What are you doing, brother)?” He told the driver that he could easily open the door himself, saying, “Ye main kar lunga, aapne 2 min waste kar diye car start karne mein (I can do this myself — you just wasted two minutes starting the car).” The driver smiled and said politely that opening the car door was part of his job.
The entrepreneur couldn’t understand the sudden change until he remembered something. The day before, he had been on a phone call talking about a deal worth Rs 100–500 crore. That’s when it hit him, his driver must have overheard the conversation and decided that he was an important person, which prompted him to open the door of the car for him.
Laughing about it, Gupta wrote on X, “Later I realised, on the second day I was discussing something on call where I was talking about 100–500 crores. And suddenly he realised ki bada banda hai ye toh darwaja bhi kholna padega.” Astrotalk’s valuation is around Rs 2,560 crore, according to Tracxn.
Social media Reacts
“Looks like you posted this to show you are a big banda. Not to tell about the drivers,” a person said.
Another added, “You are really stupid.”
“Bro unlocked “corporate driver mode” after hearing the crores,” a comment read.

Before creating Astrotalk, Gupta founded an IT services company called CodeYeti in 2015. He ran it for two and a half years before transforming it into the astrology startup that made him famous. He also revealed his initial struggles, eating cheap meals, sleeping on the floor of a friend’s apartment and facing heartbreak before success came his way.
