Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor penned a heartfelt note on the birth anniversary of his mother Mona Shourie. In an Instagram post shared on Tuesday, Kapoor opened up about tackling a difficult phase and described how life had been cruel to him. His message was replete with hope as he shared that despite the punches he had taken, he would brave some more and continue fighting while taking life head-on, a learning he attributed to his mother.
Kapoor’s rare, vulnerable display in the open caught the Internet off guard, and many voices spoke in unison that the distasteful, merciless trolling the Bollywood actor was enduring day in and day out had to come to a stop.
“I’ll See u again”
Kapoor, 40, wrote: “Happy birthday Maa, I miss u so much today 💔 Life’s been kinda cruel
to me lately but it’s ok… I’ve taken the punches before I’ll take em again & still rise…”
“Because u taught me how to fight by standing up facing life head on while being graceful & dignified thru it all…
We will ride it out together U & I ❤️
I’ll see u again soon & we will celebrate ur bday together someday…
Your loving son
Arjun,” he concluded his post.
“All Will Be Good…”
Several members from the industry, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Genelia Deshmukh, among other personalities, took to Kapoor’s comments section, extending their love and support toward the actor.
“All will be good Arjun You have your own special angel always looking after you,” Genelia wrote in a comment.
Arjun Kapoor And Online Trolling
Kapoor is no stranger to online trolling. Daily, thousands of Internet trolls flood Ishaqzaade actor’s Instagram posts with comments berating his professional life and criticising him for not achieving the same level of fame as some of his peers did in the industry. These comments typically follow a similar pattern and garner “likes” in huge numbers, thus feeding the vicious cycle.
Here’s an exhibit:
“God gifted, Please return to God.”
“Shame on those who are not trolling him.”
“Hot and handsome dono nhi hai”
“Underhated”
“jitni kam tareef kru utni zyada hai”
“Bro don’t listen to people…..Try again…fail again. But one day you will fail again”
“It’s Time To Stop”
Kapoor’s admission about dealing with a difficult phase in life in his powerful message to his late mother made the rest of the Internet stop in its tracks and take notice. They firmly believed that the Bollywood actor had endured a lot and some, and his post was perhaps a cry for help.
It was time to stop the trolling for good, fearing things could turn ugly, the online voices worriedly expressed.
Damn I hope Arjun is okay 🥺🤍 Seriously shame on everyone who have been relentlessly trolling him with zero consideration to the fact that he is also a human being with his own insecurities. There's trying to be cool with memes on one side and being plain insensitive on another pic.twitter.com/H8rtBkF6QM

and people in comments saying "Aaj kuch nahi bolunga" "Aaj maa ne bacha liya", as if they are doing some favour on him by not bullying him on the post of his deceased mother. That "I'll see u again soon" worries me, hope he doesn't take any wrong step. https://t.co/TGZIaPaQmB

“arjun kapoor has done absolutely nothing to deserve the kind of online hate that he does. there are worse people than him who don’t even receive iota of criticism (sic),” wrote another user on X.
A Redditor, reacting to Kapoor’s Instagram post, offered advice to those who rated him lowly as an artist.
“Theres a limit to troll. People think they are being cool trolling others. Not saying he is a great actor or anything. If you dont like him dont follow him or watch his movies. Your comments surely has an impact on others. If the person gets frustrated and takes extreme steps then people will come and console. Karna hi kyun hai kisi ko tang (sic).”
“We’re Sorry”
A few of the online trolls took to X and Instagram and extended an apology to the actor.
Hey @arjunk26
Sorry We all Trolled You …. But From Now On I will Not Troll You Bhai 😊
" Life's Been Kinda Cruel To Me Lately But It's Ok …. "
This Line Changed Me Forever Bhai …. Stay Strong , Keep Fighting….
Sorry Once Again 😞 pic.twitter.com/TPxyAXH338

“Stop it guys. It’s pathetic how people roast others just to farm likes. You’re mentally harassing someone for engagement. If something happens to him, will those likes be worth it? He’s clearly crying out for help and telling us exactly what he’s going through. Have some shame,” commented one on Kapoor’s Insta post.
