Virat Kohli played an unbeaten knock of 139 runs from 88 balls on Sunday (September 27) to help India chase down the target of 296 runs in 41.4 overs and secure a big win by 8 wickets over the West Indies in the first ODI of the ongoing three-match series.
During his stay at the crease in the second half of the fixture played at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram, Kohli hammered 10 fours and nine sixes and added 151 runs for the second wicket with captain Shubman Gill, who made 110 runs off 108 balls.
After Gill’s dismissal in the 34th over, Kohli joined hands with Ruturaj Gaikwad (13 runs off 19 balls) to seal the deal for the hosts and help them take a 1-0 lead.
