Aligarh (UP), Jun 12 (PTI) A middle-aged man collapsed outside the district magistrate’s office here on Friday shortly after submitting a complaint alleging harassment and land-grabbing attempts by a village pradhan, officials said.
Dinesh Kumar, a resident of Vas Sudama village under the Iglas police station limits, was rushed to the Malkhan Singh District Hospital, where his condition was said to be stable.
Dinesh, in his complaint, alleged that the village pradhan had conspired to illegally take over the plot of land on which Kumar’s house is built by falsely projecting it as government property.
Dinesh’s brother, Vipin, who was accompanying him, alleged that they had been facing continuous harassment for the past several days and that despite
approaching the tehsil officials, they received no response.
Instead of offering relief, the revenue department registered a case, and the Iglas police station filed a complaint, Vipin alleged.
Additional City Magistrate Vineet Mishra told reporters that following Dinesh’s appeal, District Magistrate Avinash Kumar has ordered a probe into the matter.
Mishra said that an inquiry will be conducted by Iglas’ sub-divisional magistrate, and that “pending enquiry”, no further action will be taken in the matter. PTI COR CDN KSI KSI
