Panic gripped residents of Alcon Silverleaf housing society in Pune’s Keshav Nagar after a leopard was spotted inside the premises in the early hours of Thursday. Visuals of the big cat were captured in CCTV installed at the residential complex.
The animal made a surprise visit at around 4.10 am, footage showed. In the video, the big cat can be seen entering the parking area and leaving the spot quickly, after taking a pause for a brief moment. Fortunately, no one was present in the area when it arrived. Following the sighting, residents alerted the authorities, and police personnel reached the spot. Forest officials, however, have not yet issued any further details on the incident, Lokmat Times reported.
5-Year-Old Girl Dies In Leopard Attack

This comes a day after a five-year-old girl was killed in a leopard attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The incident took place on Wednesday night in the Srigufwara area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir.
It is learnt that the animal attacked the child outside her home and dragged her into nearby bushes. After a search operation was launched by police and rescue teams, the girl’s body was later recovered.
In a separate incident, a video showing a leopard running through open land in Alandi in Pune district has gone viral on social media. The footage, reportedly recorded on Tuesday near Vadgaon Road, was captured by residents from their rooftops. It shows the animal being chased by some people before it runs into a residential area. The sighting has sparked fear among locals in Alandi, a well-known pilgrimage town in Maharashtra.
Earlier this week, another tragic leopard attack was reported in Junnar taluka in the district. An eight-year-old boy, Rohit Kapare, was killed after being attacked by a leopard in a farm in Mangrul Pargaon village. The animal was reportedly hiding in bushes when it attacked, while the boy’s mother was working nearby. Forest officials have said they have sought permission to eliminate the leopard involved in the fatal attack.
