Amid suspense regarding Thalapathy Vijay’s oath-taking, a fan of the actor-turned-politician was recently spotted breaking down outside TVK Chief’s residence in Chennai. In a video that surfaced on social media, Vijay’s fan was seen crying inconsolably as he also offered prayers outside the house, praying for his star to be the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
On Friday, another Vijay fan arrived at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, where the CM swearing-in ceremony was supposed to take place. However, when the fan found out that the gates were closed, she broke down. “I came here without informing anyone, for this program. I did not know it was cancelled, and I am feeling sad. It’s just my shock now that I’m here. I have come
here, but I am unable to return,” she said, as quoted by Hindustan Times.
“From morning till now, I haven’t got any information. Even after you win, will there be no change? I thought it was confirmed that he would come and that there would be no changes. But now I’m shocked and confused,” the fan added.

Suspense Over Swearing-In Ceremony
Vijay was supposed to take the oath as the next Tamil Nadu Chief Minister on May 9. However, hopes of the same faded late Friday night after the party failed to secure the numbers required to cross the majority mark in the 234-member Assembly.
Though Vijay met the Governor at Raj Bhavan and staked a claim to form the government, uncertainty over support from key parties prevented the swearing-in from going ahead. TVK, which won 108 seats, needed additional backing to cross the majority mark of 117 after Vijay won from two constituencies.
The Congress, with five MLAs, and the CPI and CPI(M), with two MLAs each, had extended support to Vijay after breaking ranks with the DMK-led alliance. Reports also suggested that the VCK, which has two MLAs, was preparing to support the TVK.
However, the political situation changed dramatically later in the night after the IUML, another DMK ally with two MLAs, denied extending support to Vijay and reiterated its commitment to the DMK alliance. The VCK too kept its decision pending, saying talks were still on.
