Amid the massive floods in Assam, Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has donated Rs 1 crore to the state’s Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Recently, the office of the Chief Minister of Assam revealed the same and expressed gratitude to Kartik.
“Gratitude to actor @TheAaryanKartik for his generous contribution of ₹1 Crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. HCM Dr. @himantabiswa appreciated his commendable gesture and timely support toward state relief measures,” the post read.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also thanked the actor via his personal X handle and wrote, “Truly heartened by your generous contribution, @TheAaryanKartik. Your support will go a long way in helping the people of Assam #AssamFloods.”

Salman Khan Launches Relief Campaign
Previously, Salman Khan also came forward to help those affected with the ongoing devastating floods in Assam. The Bollywood superstar, through his charitable organisation Being Human, joined hands with the Salman Khan Fan Club (SKFC) Assam to coordinate relief efforts in some of the worst-hit areas of the state.
Reportedly, the relief initiative is being carried out in multiple phases, with the first phase focusing on immediate necessities. Ready-to-eat food packets are being distributed to flood-affected families in Sivasagar. The packets reportedly contain items including biscuits, jaggery, poha, puffed rice, bread, cheese and jam.
In the following days, the relief teams will also provide drinking water, water-purification tablets, sanitary pads and mosquito coils as part of the initial assistance. The subsequent phases are expected to expand the scope of the initiative, with ration kits and medicines planned for distribution.
About Assam Floods
For the unversed, the initiative comes at a time when Assam has been dealing with the aftermath of severe flooding. On July 28, the flood death toll stood at 68, while 4,45,495 people remained affected across six districts, according to an official bulletin.
Recently, PM Modi assured the MPs of the Centre’s full support in tackling the crisis and appreciated the efforts of the Assam government in managing the flood situation. While a central team is already in Assam assessing the damage, the prime minister also indicated that a senior Union minister would be deputed to the state to further strengthen coordination and relief efforts.
