Hrithik Roshan To Replace Shah Rukh Khan In Rajinikanth's Jailer 2: Report

Shah Rukh Khan has reportedly opted out of a special cameo appearance in Jailer 2 due to tight schedules with his upcoming action film King. According to reports, the makers of the highly anticipated sequel have now approached Hrithik Roshan for the role. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 is one of the most awaited pan-India films following the massive success of Rajinikanth’s Jailer in 2023.

Mid-day has quoted fresh reports claiming that Shah Rukh Khan may not come on board due to his packed schedule and ongoing commitments to ‘King’ and now the team has approached Hrithik Roshan for the role. Hrithik Roshan and Rajinikanth has shared screen space in Bhagwaan Dada.

Jailer 2 To Hit Theatres On September 11?

will hit cinemas on September 11. The source shared that the makers are confident about locking September 11 as the final release date. “This will lead up to the auspicious day of Ganesh Chaturthi on September 14, giving the film an extended weekend and holiday run,” it shared.

In April, Rajinikanth wrapped up the shoot for his much-awaited film Jailer 2, marking a major milestone for the project. The makers celebrated the occasion with a cake-cutting ceremony that brought together the cast and crew. Photos and videos from the wrap-up celebration have surfaced online. Taking to their Instagram handle, Sun Pictures shared a series of photos featuring celebrating the moment with a cake-cutting ceremony. “Alapparai Kelappurom, Thalaivaru Nerandharam!  It’s a wrap for #Jailer2,” read the caption.

Shah Rukh Khan starrer King has already generated quite a lot of buzz. With a cast including Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji, Suhana Khan, Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor and many more, the Siddharth Anand directorial has fans buzzing even before its release, and moviegoers are waiting for every update with bated breath. Amid this, reports suggest that another blockbuster actor might have joined the cast for a cameo.

As per Always Bollywood, Ranveer Singh will be seen making a cameo appearance in King. Reportedly, Singh will portray a mysterious character in the film. He will allegedly be seen handing over a confidential document to Suhana, which will help her navigate through all the difficulties unharmed, as per the report. While the makers are yet to confirm Ranveer’s cameo in the film, a picture from the sets of the movie had earlier gone viral. Although the people in the picture were not clearly visible, fans assumed it was Dua and Ranveer Singh.

King was officially announced in November last year. The electrifying title reveal, dropped on November 2 to mark Shah Rukh Khan’s birthday, introduced his silver-haired, action-driven look, an SRK-special theme song and a striking dialogue delivered by SRK: “Darr nahi, dehshat hoon,” setting off a frenzy across media platforms. With the date reveal, anticipation for the film continues to soar.
